Job Description Argus Labs is building the next generation of massively multiplayer online (MMO) games by empowering players with extensive freedom to build, extend, and influence the game worlds they inhabit. Our approach centers around World Engine, our state-of-the-art onchain game server framework. World Engine leverages a novel sharded rollup blockchain architecture, enabling games to use smart contracts for user-generated content (UGC) while scaling to tens of thousands of concurrent users without compromising performance. To date, World Engine is the most performant blockchain designed from the ground up for games and has been used in production for titles like Dark Frontier, processing over 700K player transactions within a week. Backed by leading investors We raised $10 million in seed funding led by Haun Ventures ($1.5B crypto fund led by former a16z GP, Katie Haun), with participation from influential angel investors in tech and gaming such as Elad Gil and Balaji Srinivasan (ex-Coinbase CTO). Learn more about us and our technology: Responsibilities Develop and maintain the core game technology infrastructure that serves as the backend for our game worlds. Architect systems enabling seamless communication and interoperability between games, marketplaces, and user-generated content platforms. Collaborate closely with game designers and other engineers to ensure our technology meets the needs of our games and players. Continuously optimize the performance, reliability, and scalability of our infrastructure. Requirements Experience as a software engineer, focusing on distributed systems or backend development. Strong understanding of distributed systems principles and algorithms. Proficiency in Go with experience shipping production-grade code. Experience with container orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.). Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Passion for games and game technology. This position is open only to candidates based in the Latin America region . Applicants must currently reside in and have the legal right to work in a country within Latin America. Nice to have Experience with game technology infrastructure or engine development. Proficiency in Rust. Experience leading engineering teams. Experience with blockchain core protocol engineering. Experience with Cosmos SDK.
