Job Description

Responsibilities/Job Description:

The Technologist position provides services to patients and physicians through the creation of diagnostic images appropriate to the age of the patient exam ordered. Responsible for meeting the established standards of practice and patient care, supplies and equipment and for coordinating teamwork with all of the members of the health care team. This position shares call rotation for nights and weekends. Will cover hospitals in Crosby, MN and Aitkin, MN

Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures

Performs examinations with technical accuracy and in a timely manner.
Verifies patient identification and documentation
Reviews physician order prior to exam or procedure.
Communicates pertinent information to the appropriate health
care professional.
Achieves quality diagnostic images through correct patient positioning and use of technical factors according to protocol.
Communicates with and educates patient regarding pertinent information during all aspects of exam
Recognizes structures visualized and understands their significance.
Accurately produces and records measurements according to protocols.
Accurately conveys initial findings and clinical data to radiologists.
Participates in creating a culture of patient safety
Demonstrates knowledge of emergency preparedness for facility

Ensures patient data integrity

Accurately completes computer functions, edits, scheduling, billing, and status changes in a timely fashion.
Performs accurate image identification, record preparation, and digital image manipulation and archiving.
Assembles similar relevant exams and reports.
Documents initial and ongoing data, interventions, responses/results, or interventions consistent with established policies/procedures/guidelines.

Identifies and responds to equipment problems to ensure equipment is in working order according to Department guidelines
Acquires technical competency as new technology is introduced into the facility.
Correctly operates and optimizes the use of equipment.
Executes downtime procedures

Education

Education at a level to be ARDMS registry eligible

License/Certification/Registration

ARRT registered or ARDMS registered in one specialty within 18 months of employment

Preferred

Education

Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program

License/Certification/Registration

ARDMS registered in multiple specialties
Qualifications:

$42.79-$61.80 Hourly
