AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Sr Archaeologist to join our Tampa, FL office. The selected candidate will apply archaeological knowledge and experience toward assessment of transportation, planning, and infrastructure projects, and preparation and review of environmental documents in compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and other relevant environmental laws. Responsibilities include serving as Principal Investigator on projects, leading fieldwork (survey, testing, data recovery, monitoring), providing leadership and technical guidance, developing proposals, evaluating sites for National Register eligibility, assessing effects to sites, writing technical reports, coordinating with agencies and tribal governments, assisting with desktop project tasks, reviewing reports for quality control, and mentoring junior staff. The role requires fieldwork and travel, primarily in Florida but potentially elsewhere in the US. Candidates must have a Master’s degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or related field meeting SOI Standards, 5-10 years professional archaeology experience, intermediate ArcGIS skills, familiarity with transportation engineering plans, and preferably FDOT experience. Excellent written and interpersonal skills are required. Position may require use of company vehicle and valid driver’s license. Drug screen and background check required.
