We are looking for a full-time Fire Protection Engineer with the following experience and expertise:

  1. Code Appliance:
    • Interpret and apply federal, state, and local fire protection codes and regulations to ensure compliance in the design and construction of buildings and facilities.
    • Understand and implement NFPA and IBC codes and regulations to recognize construction types, occupancy loads, and other relevant factors.
  2. System design:
    • Design and develop fire protection systems, including fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, smoke control systems, and other related systems.
    • Conduct calculations, simulations, and analysis to determine the effectiveness of fire protection measures.
  3. Plan Review:
    • Review architectural and engineering plans to assess fire protection features, identify potential hazards, and recommend necessary modifications for compliance.
  4. Life Safety Planning:
    • Assist in the development and review of emergency response plans, evacuation procedures, and other measures to enhance life safety during fire incidents.
  5. Project Coordination:
    • Collaborate with architects, other engineers, and project managers to integrate fire protection measures seamlessly into building designs and construction projects.
  6. Documentation:
    • Prepare detailed engineering reports, specifications, and documentation related to fire protection systems and compliance efforts.
  7. Inspection and Testing:
    • Conduct on-site inspections to ensure the installation and implementation of fire protection systems meet the approved plans and standards.
    • Oversee and participate in testing and commissioning activities for fire protection systems.
  8. Risk Assessment:
    • Perform risk assessments to identify potential fire hazards and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
    • Provide recommendations for the improvement of fire safety measures in existing buildings.
  9. Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure that all fire protection engineering work complies with quality standards, budget constraints, and project timelines.
  10. Client Interaction:
    • Communicate with clients, government officials, and project stakeholders to address inquiries, provide technical expertise, and ensure project goals are met.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license required.
  • Knowledge of NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) codes and IBC (International Building Codes)
  • Experience working on federal projects and familiarity with federal regulations is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
